As you may know, the Mid American Truck Show has just concluded in Louisville, Kentucky. We had a wonderful time and had a chance to meet some amazingly diverse people, learn about some excellent American Made products, and even obtain some. This tradeshow is always amazing. To say it is humongous is an understatement. Comprising of four main pavillions, the show spans every aspect of the trucking industry. From Accounting Services to Tires to the newest and best the truck manufacturers can offer.

I guess the thing that sticks out in my mind the most was the presence of an unwelcome addition to this years show. The Chinese have invaded the Mid American Truck Show. They had a huge display of their products in the West Wing and in many of the other sections their presence was felt. Two American Manufacturers wondered if next year they were going to see their products copied by the Chinese and being sold at the show. It is sad that our government is not just allowing this destruction of American prosperity, but is actively participating in this raping of our economy and our manufactoring base.

Over the past four years, the events in the parking lot of Papa John's Stadium have continued to develop and expand. This year was the biggest and most complex set of activities yet. Amazingly, even with the large number of people there to support Chance Rodgers, a young man battling cancer, there was harmony and peace among the masses. With hundreds there on Thursday evening to hear one of Country Musics greatest artists, Leeland Martin. In a conversation with Leland Martin, he reiterated his Love for this nation, its industry and of the Trucking Community. As you know, his band is called 'American Made'. This is a key tenant in his song writing and in his performances. During the concert on Thursday evening, there were not many dry eyes as he sang 'Our American Heros', a tribute to the Americans who have given their all for our freedom.

All in all, with the efforts of Leland Martin, Jerry & Coleen Sims of Gulf Coast Filters, Maniac, Doc Holiday, MagiChef, Hot Flash and so many more, the events at the truck show garnered support for Chance Rodgers to the tune of over $21,000! As I see what America's Drivers are capable of, it makes me see more and more how valuable they are to this nation.
